Orientation and Introduction

Assistance in controlling your risk starts the minute you join Physician Assurance. Upon issuance of your policy you receive a comprehensive Service Manual, including a proprietary risk management tool kit. The tool kit contains information, articles and sample forms that assist your practice in implementing proven risk management tools and strategies. In addition, each insured and the office manager will receive orientation letters introducing the risk control program.

 

Aggressive Defense

Through the integration of RISK MITIGATION and RISK LITIGATION Physician Assurance is taking control! When there is an event, we are already preparing a defense! It is past time to reverse the trend the “old” system has created. Physician Assurance is taking the gloves off and going on the offensive through:

Audits and Surveys

Every practice that joins Physician Assurance receives a baseline risk management assessment within 60 days of the inception of coverage. This initial examination evaluates specific at-risks areas that have been identified through decades of research and analysis. Risk management recommendations are provided to each practice along with the tools and knowledge to implement the recommendations! Results of the audits are trended and incorporated into future educational programs.
Education

A mandatory educational program is provided annually and presented by James W. Saxton, Esq. at no cost to the insureds. Examples of the programs include:

Business Manager Teleconferences

Bi-annual teleconferences that share important, timely information with practice administrators are conducted by attorneys and consultants from Stevens & Lee. These essential programs allow practice administrators to learn the strategies and techniques for effectively dealing with difficult risk management issues.

 

Event Management

The foundation of Physician Assurance success is event management. It is the best strategy for the patient, for the patient’s family, and for the insured physician or practice. By managing events as they occur, Physician Assurance can improve patient satisfaction and understanding, while reducing the frequency and severity of claims and lawsuits. This is real-time management of events as they occur.

 

Analysis and Development

Effective analysis of best practices requires the collection and analysis of data. Physician Assurance utilizes a proprietary database that trends reported activity in a blinded and confidential fashion. This allows the identification of issues requiring additional focus. Physician Assurance insured physicians and practices will be armed with the latest information through educational programs and specialty specific audits developed as a result of the analysis of data.
